About the Checkertail Museum
Along with providing warbird pilot training and exciting flight experiences, our organization is
dedicated to preserving the history of World War II, specifically that of
Herschel 'Herky' Green and his 325th fighter wing. Both our T-6 "Texan" and P-51 Mustang
are painted in the Checkertail regalia of the 325th Fighter Wing. These men were heroes, and we
believe that the critical contributions of these men and their airplanes should be preserved and
continue to be passed along.
